Weitere Informationen

Cacao Nibs from SONQO are an aromatic addition to morning muesli, on salads, over ice cream or as a cookie. They can be ground into cocoa mass and then enjoyed in a drink with water or milk. The light roast gives the natural superfood a particularly delicious flavor, while the pleasant bitterness ensures that your stomach feels alert.

Chuncho means “wild” in Quechua. This original and resistant cocoa variety does not grow on plantations, but in the wild and in intact biodiversity. The resistant Chuncho beans are grown without chemicals and are genetically unchanged. In contrast to hybrid varieties, which are harvested several times a year, Cacao Chuncho can only be harvested once a year in the wild in a natural cycle.

Cacao Nibs from SONQO (300g) are lightly roasted, which gives them their characteristic nutty, fruity superfood taste.

After harvesting, the cocoa beans are gently dried, cleaned, hand-picked and roasted. The beans burst open during this process. During the subsequent “winnowing” process, the cocoa bean fragments are separated from the shells in a kind of grain winnower, sorted again by hand and packaged.

The high quality of the cocoa beans is supported by the natural sun-drying process and the original method of fermentation. Cacao nibs are rich in fiber and a source of potassium and iron, two minerals that are essential for the blood.

FAQ

What do roasted cocoa beans taste like?
If we are used to conventional chocolate, we first have to get used to it. At first bite, the roasted cocoa nibs have a high bitterness. This naturally makes the stomach feel alert. As a daily companion, the crunchy nibs can gradually develop up to 600 flavors on the palate.
Why does cocoa make you happy?
This is partly due to the alkaloid salsolinol, which is contained in natural cocoa. When consumed, the brain releases dopamine, which is known as the happiness hormone. Cacao also contains the amino acid L-tryptophan, which your body converts into serotonin. This neurotransmitter affects both our nervous system and our circulation. Serotonin gives the body an inner calm and is said to counteract any stress.
Are cocoa nibs healthy?
Roasted cacao nibs are a rich source of minerals such as magnesium, iron, zinc and copper, which are essential for various bodily functions, such as the immune system and the formation of red blood cells. They also contain theobromine, and although roasted cacao nibs contain less theobromine than raw cacao, it is still present. Theobromine is similar in structure to caffeine. However, it is not as strong and has a more lasting effect, stimulating the heart and thus dilating the blood vessels. This ingredient is also said to lighten your mood. The word parts “theo” and “broma” translate as “nectar of the gods”.
Why are roasted cocoa nibs good for digestion?
Roasted cocoa beans aid digestion because the enzymes contained in the bean break down the ingested food into its natural components.
Where can I learn rituals for dealing with cocoa?
Discover the SONQO Cacao Course in three modules. You are also regularly invited to free online live streams from SONQO to practice with the SONQO community. See SONQO.EVENTS.
Why don't Pachamama Cacao Nibs have any labels or certificates?
SONQO is committed to a holistic way of life and dispenses with certificates and labels because they only ever take partial aspects of a holistic ecology into account. SONQO thus emphasizes the holistic approach.
