Cacao makes you happy – and a handful of raw cocoa beans is also suitable for depressed moods, stress or cravings. This is partly due to the alkaloid salsolinol, which is contained in natural cocoa. When consumed, the brain releases dopamine, the happiness hormone. Cacao also contains the amino acid L-tryptophan, which your body converts into serotonin. Serotonin gives the body an inner calm and is said to counteract stress. The secondary plant substances flavanols increase concentration. The high magnesium and iron content makes cocoa popular during menstruation.

Roasted cocoa beans from SONQO (400g) impress with their distinctive aroma. The cocoa bean develops its characteristic nutty, fruity superfood taste through fermentation and drying in the open air and in the natural heat of the sun, as well as gentle roasting.

Wild and powerful – straight from the jungle

Chuncho means “wild” in Quechua. This original and resistant cocoa variety does not grow on plantations, but in the wild and in intact biodiversity. It therefore contains an immense amount of nutrients. The high quality is also a result of the natural sun-drying process and the original method of fermentation.

Pachamama Cacao is a purely natural product. The hardy Chuncho beans are grown without chemicals or genetic manipulation. In contrast to hybrid varieties, which are harvested several times a year, Cacao Chuncho can only be harvested once a year in the wild in a natural cycle.
