Beauty must suffer

Ideals of beauty have existed since the beginning of mankind. They continue to change. What has remained constant is the demand that many people place on themselves to conform to current ideals and to accept suffering in order to do so.

There are numerous variations on the sayings “If you want to be beautiful, you have to suffer” or “If you want to appear beautiful, suffer from head to toe”. They date back to 1862. They all originate from the fashion industry and are an unspoken promise to attract positive attention from fellow human beings through predetermined visual qualities and charms.

A voice can be beautiful, as can a touch. However, the sense of sight is often predominant in the perception of beauty. This tendency has been reinforced with the introduction of the smartphone and the incessant photographing, filming and consumption of this visual world.

If beauty does not refer to outward appearances at all, but to inner nature, then the saying “BEAUTY MUST Suffer” takes on a thoroughly constructive meaning.

Human Sufferings have many facets and ultimately they all lead to LETTING GO: letting go of previously familiar structures, of conditioned behavior patterns and of unconscious reactions to the outside world. Letting go of everything that has become obsolete is like a dying process. Regardless of whether we experience a situation as positive or negative: Every situation holds the opportunity to let go of what is outdated and to initiate the birth of what is currently right. In everyday life, this healing process is often associated with challenges and suffering.

A MUNAY CACAO CEREMONY from SONQO also involves a process of letting go and receiving. The Pachamama Cacao awakens the SANFTMUT for a liberating process. Mentally, we always work with the two important qualities DEDICATION & GRATITUDE: Dedication to our own inner nature and gratitude that our inner nature is always there for us with the vitalizing qualities of serenity, inner peace, love, compassion and creative power. The alchemy of all these qualities makes the inner beauty shine. It becomes perceptible through energy, presence and radiance. We can feel it ourselves and others can feel it.

Every person (and every being) possesses this inner beauty. And every moment is another chance to let go of external ideas and demands and be present with inner beauty – that is peace, that is joie de vivre – that is our happiness.
